AP: Cath lab works completed in Kakinada GGH: Minister

Vijayawada, Sep 28 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Minister for Health Satya Kumar Yadav has announced that the work on the modern cath lab, established through a public-private partnership at the Kakinada Government General Hospital, has been completed and cath lab services will commence on October 1.
The Minister informed that the tender process for setting up new cath labs at the government teaching hospitals in Tirupati, Nellore, and Srikakulam is currently underway. He mentioned that Rs 18 crore would be spent on these facilities. He noted that there are currently eight cath labs operational in the state's government teaching hospitals, explaining that five are run directly by the government, while three operate under a public-private partnership model.
The Minister revealed that measures are being taken to provide four additional heart-lung machines to the government hospitals in Tirupati, Kadapa, Anantapur, and Guntur, adding that Rs 10 crore will be spent for this purpose.
