Sanitary napkin vending machines, incinerators to come up at 14 KSRTC terminals in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 6 (UNI) Sanitary napkin vending machines and incinerators will be commissioned at 14 KSRTC bus terminals across Kerala as part of a menstrual hygiene initiative of the Women and Child Development Department.
Women and Child Development Minister Bindu Krishna will inaugurate the statewide launch at the KSRTC bus terminal in Thampanoor here at 4.30 pm on Tuesday.
Transport Minister C P John will preside over the function, while Thiruvananthapuram Mayor V V Rajesh will be the chief guest.
The facilities are being installed under the department's 'Women On the Move & Menstrual Needs' project, aimed at making menstrual hygiene products more accessible to women travelling through KSRTC terminals and providing facilities for the safe disposal of used sanitary napkins.
Transport Department Secretary Anupama T V, Women and Child Development Department Special Secretary Sheeba George, Director V Vigneshwari, KSRTC CMD Dr P S Pramoj Shankar and Councillor R Harikumar will attend the function.
