141 Medical Students Graduate from Apollo Medical Institute in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Oct 10 (UNI) A total of 141 undergraduate and postgraduate medical students graduated from the Apollo Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (AIMSR), Hyderabad, at a graduation ceremony held at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University here on Saturday.
Padma Shri Dr. B. Soma Raju, renowned cardiologist and founder of CARE Hospitals, attended the ceremony as the chief guest.
Of the graduating students, 97 belonged to the undergraduate batch of 2020 and 44 to the postgraduate batch of 2022.
Since its inception in 2012, the institution has produced more than 700 graduates, with over 90 per cent of its alumni securing postgraduate seats in medical colleges across India or residency programmes abroad, according to AIMSR.
The Chairman's Medal, Dr. Prathap C. Reddy's Gold Medal, for the best outgoing undergraduate student was awarded to Maya Devi Kocherlakota of the 2020 batch, while Dr. Samudrala Kavya of the Department of General Medicine received the award for the best outgoing postgraduate student.
The Dr. K.V.R. Prasad Memorial Gold Medal was presented to Vellore Sarvan Sri Ramya.
Addressing the graduates, Dr. Soma Raju highlighted Dr. Prathap C. Reddy's contribution to the development of private healthcare in India and urged the students to uphold compassion, humility and ethical responsibility in their medical careers.
He stressed that while technology and artificial intelligence were transforming healthcare, human understanding and empathy remained indispensable in treating patients.
Mr. Shiva Rama Krishnan, CEO of Apollo Knowledge, called upon the graduates to embrace technological advancements, particularly artificial intelligence, and pursue continuous learning to improve clinical decision-making and patient care.
AIMSR Dean Dr. K. Manohar said 34 MBBS graduates had secured first-class marks. Of the 45 postgraduate students, 42 had passed, including 14 who secured first-class honours. He advised the graduates to strengthen their communication skills, treat patients with compassion and continuously update their medical knowledge.
Earlier in her welcome address, COO Ms. Aparna Reddy said the graduation ceremony marked an important milestone in the students' professional journeys and expressed confidence that they would contribute to healthcare as doctors, researchers and future medical leaders.
