BJP stages protests in Karnataka over Jan Aushadhi Kendras' closure

Bengaluru, May 30 (UNI) Statewide protests broke out across Karnataka on Friday as the BJP staged demonstrations against the Congress government's reported decision to shut down Jan Aushadhi Kendras operating within government hospitals.
Tensions escalated in Bengaluru as police detained several BJP workers, including senior party leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Dr CN Ashwath Narayan, during a silent protest outside a government hospital.
Party workers were prevented from assembling near hospital gates as they sought to highlight the alleged denial of essential medicines to the poor.
