Kalaburagi, May 27 (UNI) The Karnataka police on Tuesday registered a First Information Report (FIR) against BJP MLC N Ravi Kumar over his controversial remarks against Kalaburagi Deputy Commissioner Fauzia Tarannum, triggering widespread condemnation from civil society groups and political leaders.
The FIR was lodged at the Station Bazaar police station in Kalaburagi following Kumar’s comments at a BJP rally held on May 24 under the party’s ‘Kalaburagi Chalo’ campaign.
Addressing the gathering, Kumar questioned the neutrality of the district collector and remarked, “I don’t know whether the DC has come from Pakistan or is an IAS officer here,” implying the officer was acting under the influence of the Congress government.
