Rs one crore defamatory suit : Stalin says TN Min Aadhav Arjuna has not moved court with 'clean hands", seeks dismissal of plea with costs

Chennai, Sep 22 (UNI)Asserting that the Tamil Nadu Minister has not approached the court with "clean hands", DMK President and Former Chief Minister M K Stalin on Tuesday filed a counter-affidavit in the Madras High Court seeking dismissal with costs, the defamatory suit filed by TVK Leader and Tamil Nadu PWD and Sports Development Minister Aadhav Arjuna demanding Rs one crore damages and an unconditional apology for a social media post linking him as a close relative to an accused arrested in a narcotics case.
Aadhav Arjuna had filed the suit after Stalin, in an X post citing an Enforcement Directorate (ED) statement, which described John Britto as a key accused in a Rs 258-crore drug trafficking case, was the Minister's relative.
When the case came up for hearing before Justice Govindarajan Thilakavathi today, Counsel for Stalin argued that Aadhav Arjuna had not approached the court with “clean hands”. He referred to the alleged ED cases involving Aadhav Arjuna and his father n-law, mother-in-law and her brother. It also referred to a pending CBI case against the Minister in in connection with the Karur stampede which he had disclosed in his election affidavit.
