Woman Railway Clerk from TN dies in Kerala landslide

Chennai, Sep 21 (UNI) A Woman Southern Railway staffer from Tamil Nadu has died in the landslide triggered by heavy rains in Kottayam district of Kerala, where she had gone for an official meeting.
The state government offered its deepest condolences and was taking all steps in coordination with the Kerala government to bring
back her body to the state.
The woman staffer, Sangeetha was working as a Clerk at Tirisoolam Railway station in Chennai.
In post on X, the CMO said the Government of Tamil Nadu conveys its deep condolences and sympathies, on behalf of the State, to
the family members, relatives, and office colleagues who are grieving the loss of Mrs. Sangheetha from Chennai, who was serving
as the Compound Clerk at Tirissulam Railway Station.
It said "she had gone to Kottayam in Kerala State to participate in a meeting of Southern Railway officials, and who tragically lost her life after being caught in a landslide that occurred at a place called Teekoy".
"It is also hereby informed that the Government of Tamil Nadu, in coordination with the Government of Kerala State, is making all necessary arrangements to bring the body of the late Mrs. Sangheetha to Chennai", it said.
