MBIFL unveils new visual identity for eighth edition

Kochi, Sep 28 (UNI) Mathrubhumi International Festival of Letters (MBIFL), billed as South India’s largest literary festival, has unveiled a new visual identity for its eighth edition, marking the countdown to MBIFL ’27, scheduled to be held from January 28 to 31, 2027 at Kanakakkunnu Palace in Thiruvananthapuram.
The new identity was unveiled across Kerala through a front-page French window advertisement in the Mathrubhumi editions. At its centre is a reimagined and expandable ‘Ka’, derived from the Malayalam letter and designed as an open form capable of continuously adapting to different formats, ideas and expressions.
The new visual combines bold geometric forms with softer edges, while the open space at its centre symbolises room for diverse voices, perspectives and possibilities. The identity is intended to reflect the expanding scale and scope of the festival and its wide-ranging conversations.
