Claims of mining threat to Ramappa Temple baseless: Singareni

Hyderabad, Oct 5 (UNI) Singareni management today clarified that reports suggesting the Ramappa Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, could be threatened by the proposed mining project are baseless.
In a statement, the management said the proposed Venkatapur Open Cast Project in Mulugu district would proceed only after a comprehensive scientific study. It said further decisions would be based on reports from the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and other reputed institutions.
Singareni said it would not undertake any activity that could harm the Ramappa Temple and remains committed to protecting Telangana's heritage assets. The management also reiterated that environmentally responsible and legally compliant mining practices would remain its priorities.
