Depression: Vamshadara, Nagavali rivers in spate, normal life thrown out of gear in AP districts

Vijayawada, Sep 23 (UNI) The incessant rain under the influence of the depression has thrown normal life out of gear in Srikakulam and ASR districts on Wednesday, and all rivers, canals and rivulets are overflowing with floodwater.
The Vamshadara and Nagavali rivers in Srikakulam were in spate with heavy inflows. A culvert on a canal at Gangavaram village was washed away in the floods, resulting in road connectivity to many villages being cut off.
The flood water was flowing over the bridge at Cheedimettu village of Hukumpet mandal in ARS district. Many trees were uprooted and fell across the ghat road at Ananthagiri. Road connectivity was cut off to Peddarokallapalli, Sitarampalli and Ramanagaram villages in Tekkali mandal of Srikakulam district as floodwater from a rivulet overflowed onto the road.
