Hyderabad, May 31 (UNI) The Telangana unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a sharp attack on Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Saturday, accusing him of turning the Chief Minister’s Office into a platform for photo opportunities and media spectacles rather than focusing on pressing governance issues.
In a strongly worded statement, BJP State Chief Spokesperson and Media In-Charge NV Subash criticised Revanth Reddy for what he termed “bizarre and irresponsible” conduct, claiming it was unbecoming of a state leader. Subash alleged that the Chief Minister was echoing narratives that align more closely with Pakistan’s propaganda than the sentiments of Indian citizens.
Referring to Revanth Reddy’s recent remarks questioning the Modi government’s military record and its stance on Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK), Subash remarked, “Is he living in a fantasy? Even a national daily that once reported such claims retracted them following clarifications from the Defence Ministry.
Yet, the Chief Minister repeats these falsehoods, seemingly to impress his party high command—Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi—thanks to whom he was parachuted into the CM’s chair.”
Subash questioned Revanth’s respect for the Indian Armed Forces, citing past statements from the Directorate General of Military Operations (DGMO) that contradict the Chief Minister’s claims.
“Even a staunch BJP critic like AIMIM’s Asaduddin Owaisi has openly called out Pakistan’s duplicity. But Revanth Reddy, in a baffling display of ignorance, appears to legitimise the enemy nation’s narrative,” he said.
Criticising the Chief Minister’s priorities, Subash added, “It is unfortunate that Revanth Reddy seems more excited about sharing the spotlight with Miss World on tomorrow’s front pages than showing solidarity with the nation at a time of heightened tension with our rogue neighbour, Pakistan.”
He also mocked the Chief Minister’s prediction that Rahul Gandhi will become India’s next Prime Minister. “Even his own party members would laugh at that suggestion,” Subash quipped.
Calling for greater accountability, Subash urged Revanth Reddy to exercise restraint and responsibility in public discourse. “Such reckless statements not only damage the Chief Minister’s credibility but also tarnish the image of Telangana—a state that played a heroic role in India’s freedom struggle,” he said.
