AP: YSRCP condemns attack on cadre, demands CBI probe into DSC irregularities

Vijayawada, Sep 21 (UNI) YSR Congress Party has condemned the attack on its party workers who were protesting against the irregularities in the DSC 2025 at the SAAP office here and reiterated the demand for a CBI inquiry and the resignation of Education Minister Nara Lokesh.

Speaking to the media here on Monday, YSRCP State Coordinator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy allegedc that TDP goons had attacked the YSRCP leaders and cadre who were protesting against the District Selection Committee (DSC) scam at the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) office today and police sided with the ruling party which shows the manner in which the coalition is misusing the institution.

Alleging that the friendly media of the ruling party are distorting the DSC irregularities, he said: “We are against only those who got jobs by producing fake certificates at the cost of those who worked hard but could not get the job as like a never ending story evidences are surfacing with every passing day,” Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy asserted.

“We condemn the attack on our Party cadre and the government should answer as to why those who got jobs in Sports quota were there and why the TDP cadre gathered at the same venue where we were protesting. Our Party cadres were there to give a representation on the DSC irregularities and our demand and they were attacked which shows that there is no place for democracy in the State,” the YSRCP leaders revealed.

Stating that the fight is not between two parties nor is it between those who got jobs, he said that the YSRCP is being wrongly projected by the TDP friendly media, but it is against those who got the jobs through unfair means and those who allowed them to happen.

The Sports quota issue is very much in the open on how the respective association has denied their participation or winning medals and the government giving those jobs even without clearing the qualifying TET exam, he pointed out.

Such degrading and manipulative politics are not new to Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu who is trying to shield his Education Minister son Nara Lokesh but ultimately truth prevails and all those associated with the scam and those who are trying to protect the wrongdoers will have to face the consequences, he said.
Notably, the latest allegation involves the recruitment of 372 individuals into teacher posts through a special sports quota without them having to sit for the actual DSC exam. The SAAP headquarters is the state department that verified and issued the eligibility documentation for the controversial Mega DSC-2025 teacher recruitments.
The opposition alleges that SAAP officials acted in collusion with ruling party leaders to clear 372 sports-quota appointments using fraudulent "participation-only" physical education certificates, allowing these candidates to completely bypass the rigorous written DSC examination.
On Monday, a massive demonstration erupted right outside the SAAP gates. YSRCP workers and job aspirants attempted to lay siege to the building, which was met by a counter-protest from physical education teachers who defended their selection.
