KCR family amassed hundreds of acres during BRS rule, alleges Congress' Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy

Hyderabad, Sep 21 (UNI) Bhongir Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy on Monday alleged that the BRS leadership and its associates had accumulated large tracts of land and built farmhouses by misusing political power during the previous BRS regime.
Speaking to the media during an inspection of former minister G Jagadish Reddy's farmhouse at Shamshabad, Kiran Kumar Reddy said Congress representatives were visiting the properties to bring the facts before the people. His remarks came amid a wider political dispute over landholdings and farmhouses linked to BRS leaders.
He alleged that KCR's family and associates held hundreds of acres across several districts and questioned how such extensive landholdings were accumulated in a relatively short period.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy had recently cited figures of about 439 acres linked to KCR's family and relatives across nine districts, 24 mandals and 31 villages in the Assembly, while ordering an inquiry into land around the Erravelli farmhouse.
Kiran Kumar Reddy alleged that former minister Harish Rao had farmhouses at Ranganayaka Sagar and Aziznagar, while KTR's Janwada farmhouse and KCR's Erravelli farmhouse had also come under scrutiny.
He questioned the growth in the declared assets of Jagadish Reddy between the 2009 and subsequent Assembly elections.
He alleged that Inam and assigned lands had been used for farmhouses and demanded that any government or Inam land found within the Shamshabad farmhouse premises be recovered and distributed among eligible poor people.
The Congress MP alleged that the BRS had promoted a "farmhouse culture" in Telangana and questioned whether the state was formed merely for the benefit of one political family.
He also alleged that the previous government left the state with a heavy debt burden and said the Congress government was working to expose alleged irregularities relating to landholdings.
Legislative Assembly Government Whips Adi Srinivas and Beerla Ilaiah, Legislative Council Whips Addanki Dayakar and Balmuri Venkat, MLAs Kumbham Anil Kumar Reddy, Bathula Laxma Reddy, Mandula Samuel, Veerlapalli Shankar, Balu Naik and Naveen Yadav, Lok Sabha member Suresh Shetkar, Rajya Sabha MP Anil Kumar Yadav and other Congress leaders participated in the programme.
