KTR opposes proposed open-cast coal mine near Ramappa Temple

Hyderabad, Oct 5 (UNI) BRS Working President K T Rama Rao (KTR) has opposed the reported proposal to establish an open-cast coal mine near the historic Ramappa Temple, warning that mining activities could threaten the UNESCO World Heritage Site and Ramappa Cheruvu.
In a post on social media platform X, KTR alleged that the Congress government was attempting to exploit resources beneath the land while putting heritage structures at risk. He said drilling and blasting operations near the temple could cause serious damage to the centuries-old structure and the surrounding water body.
KTR said the BRS opposed any move that could harm Telangana’s heritage and warned that the party would launch a mass movement if the proposal was not withdrawn immediately.
