Telangana: Purification of area walked by Dalits heinous act, BRS must apologise: DHPS

Hyderabad, Sep 10 (UNI) The Telangana State Council of the Dalit Rights Struggle Committee (DHPS) has strongly condemned the alleged “purification” of an area after Dalits had walked there, describing it as a heinous act reflecting caste discrimination.
Speaking at a press conference at Raj Bahadur Hall in Himayatnagar on Thursday, DHPS State President K Yesu Ratnam and General Secretary Marupaka Anil Kumar, along with Talapelli Lakshman and K. Babu, said the incident was an affront to the self-respect of the entire Dalit community, rather than merely an insult to individuals.
The DHPS demanded that the BRS publicly condemn the incident and apologise to the Dalit community, besides urging the government to initiate legal action against those responsible.
