Adani’s Colombo terminal doubles capacity to 3.2 mn TEUs

Sri Lanka/Thiruvananthapurm, Oct 1 (UNI) Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone's (APSEZ) Colombo West International Terminal (CWIT) has doubled its capacity to 3.2 million TEUs following the completion of a USD 750 million Phase II expansion, the company said.
Sri Lankan Prime Minister Dr Harini Amarasuriya inaugurated the expanded terminal, which is Sri Lanka's first fully automated deep-water container terminal.
CWIT said it had become the fastest terminal to handle one million TEUs in its inaugural year in 2024 and has now crossed the two-million-TEU milestone within the first 18 months of operations.

A CBI release said it has unearthed widespread impersonation and cheating network racket across four operating across Delhi, Bihar, Haryana and West Bengal and arrested four key operatives including One CGST inspector.
