SCR bags seven ISO certifications for energy management

Hyderabad, Oct 11 (UNI) South Central Railway (SCR) has received seven ISO 50001:2018 certifications for adopting energy-efficient practices and reducing specific energy consumption across its administrative buildings, railway stations and operational facilities.
The certifications were awarded to Kacheguda Railway Station, Rail Nilayam (SCR headquarters), Central Hospital at Lallaguda, Lekha Bhavan (SCR Accounts Building) at Secunderabad, the Chief Commercial Manager (Passenger Marketing) office at the PRS Complex, Secunderabad, the Chief Crew Controller Office (Running Room) at Secunderabad, and the Routine Overhauling Shed at Ramagundam, a SCR statement said on Sunday.
The facilities were selected based on energy savings, reduced specific energy consumption and the implementation of effective energy management practices. The initiatives include efficient power supply and maintenance, backup power and cooling systems at the PRS Complex, energy conservation in crew rest rooms and catering facilities, and improved energy management in wagon overhauling and examination at Ramagundam.
SCR General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava congratulated Principal Chief Electrical Engineer, the Divisional Railway Managers of Secunderabad and Hyderabad, and their teams on the achievement.
He said SCR had been at the forefront of implementing energy conservation measures and expressed satisfaction over the zone's continued recognition for its consistent efforts in promoting energy efficiency.
