Enhanced security at Kempegowda International Airport

Bengaluru, Oct 11 (UNI) Bengaluru police have stepped up security at Kempegowda International Airport in view of the Navaratri and Dussehra holidays, with additional personnel deployed to prevent untoward incidents and keep a close watch on unauthorised drivers and suspicious individuals.
Northeast Division Deputy Commissioner of Police Mithun Kumar has issued directions to strengthen security around the airport terminals, anticipating an increase in passenger movement during the festive holiday season.
Police have intensified surveillance following concerns over unauthorised persons operating in the guise of taxi drivers and allegedly demanding exorbitant fares from passengers.
With a large number of people expected to travel to and from the airport during the holiday period, additional police personnel have been deployed to maintain law and order, monitor suspicious activities and ensure the safety of passengers.
The enhanced security arrangements are aimed at preventing passenger harassment, curbing irregularities in taxi services and ensuring smooth movement in and around the airport, police sources said.
