Telangana Dy CM highlights govt commitment to energy security

Hyderabad, May 24 (UNI) Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka at the Central Power Ministers Conference held in Bengaluru highlighted Telangana's commitment to strengthening its energy security and providing reliable power supply to all citizens.
Bhatti, the Energy Minister at the Conference held on Friday underscored Telangana's proactive approach to meeting future energy demands, including significant plans for renewable energy additions and pumped storage projects to enhance grid flexibility and reliability.
Collaborative efforts between states and the Central government were identified as key to achieving national energy objectives, he said.
The Deputy Chief Minister engaged in fruitful discussions on critical aspects of the nation's power sector and sharing Telangana's progress and vision.
The conference provided a valuable platform for states and the Centre to deliberate on strategies for enhancing energy infrastructure, improving operational efficiency, and accelerating the transition to clean energy.
Discussions covered a range of topics pertinent to the future of the power sector, including strengthening transmission infrastructure;
The importance of long-term planning for the transmission system, extending up to 2034-35, was also a key point of deliberation, enhancing operational efficiency; accelerating EV charging infrastructure and ensuring grid security and resilience.
In the conference, the Deputy Chief Minister discussed measures to fortify the intra-state transmission network, which is essential for supporting the growing demand and integrating diverse power sources. Plans for significant additions to transmission lines and transformation capacity in Telangana were shared. Strategies for improving the performance and financial health of distribution utilities were reviewed in the Ministers conference.
The discussions focused on measures to reduce technical and commercial losses and ensure the financial sustainability of the sector, which is crucial for continued investment and service delivery.
The conference addressed the need to expedite the rollout of electric vehicle charging stations.
