Collective action needed to curb pollution and tackle climate change: C P John

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 7 (UNI) Kerala Transport Minister C P John has called for collective efforts to curb air pollution and tackle the growing challenges posed by climate change, stressing that every individual has a crucial role in reducing harmful emissions.
Speaking after inaugurating the official website and unveiling the logo of the Kerala State Climate Change Adaptation Mission here, John said climate change had become a reality and the focus should be on adapting to its impacts while taking effective measures to minimise them.
He said pollution should not be attributed only to vehicle emissions and pointed out that polluted streams and water bodies could also contribute to gaseous pollution. Local self-government institutions have a significant role in controlling such pollution and protecting water resources, he added.
