102 candidates get appointment letters at Kochi Rozgar Mela

Kochi, Sep 19 (UNI) As many as 102 newly appointed candidates received appointment letters at a Rozgar Mela organised here on Saturday by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) as part of the 20th tranche of the national-level Rozgar Mela.
Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and union Minister of State for Education Jayant Chaudhary was the chief guest at the programme. Principal Commissioner, Central Tax and Central Excise, Kochi Commissionerate, Harbinder Kaur Prasad, IRS, welcomed the gathering.
Addressing the gathering, Chaudhary said the 20th edition of the Rozgar Mela was a testament to the government's focus and commitment to the development of youth and enhancement of employment opportunities.
Through 20 such programmes, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had provided opportunities to 12.75 lakh people for various positions in different government organisations and departments, he said.
Addressing the newly appointed candidates, Chaudhary stressed the need for sensitivity and a humane approach while discharging their responsibilities. Irrespective of the level at which they work, government employees are representatives of the government and serve as an interface with the people, reflecting their needs and aspirations, he said.
He advised the newly appointed personnel to remain open to criticism and guidance and to continue learning throughout their careers.
The Minister also stressed the need for innovative approaches to tackle old and legacy problems. While adherence to rules and protocols was important, innovation was equally necessary to enable India to progress rapidly and realise the vision of Viksit Bharat, he said.
As part of the national Rozgar Mela, Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited candidates through video conferencing and addressed them. The participants at the Kochi programme witnessed the live webcast of the Prime Minister's event.
The 102 candidates who received appointment letters at Kochi were appointed to various departments, including the Department of Posts, Railways, Customs and CGST.
Launched on October 22, 2022, the Rozgar Mela has since witnessed significant expansion, with lakhs of appointment letters being distributed across various Central Government ministries, departments and public sector institutions.
