Tilottama, Vidarsa, Ashi fire India to silver in 50m rifle 3P team event

Nagoya, Sep 26 (UNI) India continued its strong shooting campaign at the Asian Games as Tilottama Sen, Vidarsa K Vinod and Ashi Chouksey fired their way to silver in the women's 50m rifle 3 positions team event here on Saturday.
The Indian trio aggregated 1763-90x to finish second behind China, which won gold with 1773 points. Kazakhstan took bronze with 1754.
The team medal was backed by strong individual performances, with Tilottama and Vidarsa also qualifying for the individual final after finishing third and sixth respectively in the qualification standings.
Tilottama produced India's best individual score of 590, shooting 197 in kneeling, 199 in prone and 194 in standing to secure third place.
Vidarsa finished sixth with 588. After posting 193 in kneeling, she recovered impressively with 199 in prone and 196 in standing to stay in contention for the individual final.
Ashi contributed 585 to India's team total, shooting 196 in kneeling and 199 in prone before finishing with 190 in standing. She placed 15th and missed the individual final.
The silver adds another medal to India's impressive shooting haul at the Aichi-Nagoya Games and gives Tilottama and Vidarsa an opportunity to fight for another podium finish in the individual final.
The 50m rifle 3 positions event tests shooters across kneeling, prone and standing positions, making consistency across all three stages crucial to both the team and individual competition.
