Dedicated transport, airport assistance: SAI steps up support for Indian athletes

New Delhi, Sep 22 (UNI) The Sports Authority of India (SAI) has stepped up logistical arrangements for the Indian contingent at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games, with dedicated airport assistance, transport facilities and medical support put in place for athletes and officials.
A joint reception team comprising representatives from the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), SAI and the Embassy of India in Japan has been deployed at the airport to receive arriving athletes, coaches and support staff, assist with arrival formalities and facilitate their onward travel to Games venues and accommodation.
According to a statement, SAI has also arranged transport for shooters to ensure smooth travel to and from competition venues, besides providing vehicles for medical teams to move between venues and attend to athletes. Alternate accommodation arrangements have been made for coaches and support staff who could not be accommodated by the Games Organising Committee due to limited availability.
