Maha govt allots office space to Justice Sandeep Shinde Committee, maratha reservation cell

Mumbai, Sep 16 (UNI) As Maratha reservation activist Manoj Jarange Patil continued his march towards Mumbai, the Maharashtra government has taken an important administrative decision to provide office space to the Justice Sandeep Shinde Committee and the Maratha Reservation Cell.
The government has decided to allot the office space currently assigned to the Energy Department on the western side of the 12th floor of the New Administrative Building to the retired Justice Sandeep Shinde Committee and the Maratha Reservation Cell.
The committee and the cell will undertake work related to tracing Kunbi records and matters concerning the legal battle over Maratha reservation from the new administrative building.
The move is expected to make it easier for applicants from the Maratha community to access and search for Kunbi records, which are significant in the process of establishing eligibility for reservation under the Kunbi category.
According to the government decision, an area of 964.44 square feet, with an actual usable area of 775 square feet, earlier allotted to the Energy Department on the western side of the 12th floor, will now be made available to the retired Justice Sandeep Shinde Committee and the Maratha Reservation Cell.
In another adjustment, 400 square feet of space on the same floor that had been allotted to the State Election Commission's cash section but had not been taken into possession will be allotted to the Energy Department.
Similarly, out of the 1,103 square feet of space under the control of the Home Department adjacent to the area, records showed that 845.59 square feet belonged to the Home Department.
Accordingly, 846 square feet will remain with the Home Department, while the remaining 257 square feet will be allotted to the Energy Department.
The government has also clarified that after the tenure of the retired Justice Sandeep Shinde Committee and the Maratha Reservation Cell ends, possession of the space allotted to them will revert to the Energy Department.
The decision comes at a time when the Maratha reservation issue has again gained momentum with Jarange Patil continuing his agitation and moving towards Mumbai. UNI SP SAS

Mumbai, Sep 16 (UNI) The Dadar-based Amy Foundation, run by a certain Piyush Shah, filed a petition in the Bombay High Court here on Wednesday seeking a direction not to grant permission to Maratha reservation agitator Manoj Jarange Patil to protest in Mumbai, sources said.
According to sources, the petition filed by the Amy Foundation will be heard in the Mumbai High Court on Thursday.

Nandurbar, Sep 16 (UNI) The Central and Western Railway zones have approved the launch of a new Amrit Bharat Express between Udhna and Pune, which will run via Nandurbar, bringing relief to railway passengers in the region.
The train will depart from Udhna and travel through Nandurbar, Amalner, Jalgaon, Chalisgaon, Manmad, Kopargaon, Ahilyanagar, Daund Chord Line and Hadapsar before reaching Pune.
Passengers had been demanding a direct train connecting Surat and Udhna with Pune via Nandurbar for a long time.
