CJP declares nationwide revolt against Election Commission, demands CEC’s resignation

Mumbai, Oct 1 (UNI) In an escalation of political tensions that threatens to ignite a nationwide showdown, the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) has launched a scathing attack on the country's apex poll body, declaring that the Election Commission of India has devolved from an autonomous democratic pillar into "mere puppets of Narendra Modi and Amit Shah."
Addressing an aggressive press conference in Mumbai alongside key party leaders, CJP Chief Abhijeet Dipke dropped a political bombshell by labeling Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar a "traitor of the nation" who has forfeited all moral authority to hold office.
The party has announced a massive nationwide agitation starting tomorrow, October 2 (Gandhi Jayanti), commencing from Gate No. 6 of Dadar’s iconic Shivaji Park at 4:00 PM. Defying warnings from state authorities and threats of prolonged detention, Dipke issued a fiery ultimatum: "Even if the government locks us up for three months instead of three days, we will return to the streets until justice is served."
The demands include the immediate resignation of CEC Gyanesh Kumar, a thorough judicial inquiry into his tenure, and the filing of direct criminal charges; and scrapping the ongoing Special Information/Verification (SIR) voter revision drive—which CJP alleges has controversially purged over 13 million (13 crore) suspicious names since 2024—and mandating that upcoming elections rely strictly on the unadulterated 2025 voter lists.
''Overhaul the selection committee for Election Commissioners to make the inclusion of the Chief Justice of India (CJI) and civil society representatives mandatory, eliminating absolute executive discretion,'' the party said.
Outlining the roadmap for the agitation, the CJP stated that the protests will systematically expand from Mumbai to six major states—Goa, Karnataka (Bengaluru), West Bengal (Kolkata), Bihar (Patna), Uttar Pradesh, and Jharkhand.
The party said by the end of October, the movement will converge at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi for an indefinite sit-in protest, with leaders vowing not to budge until CEC Gyanesh Kumar steps down.
Addressing the controversy surrounding the denial of permits at Shivaji Park—traditionally designated as a silence zone—Dipke drew sharp parallels. He questioned why ruling dispensation rallies are routinely accommodated while peaceful civic dissent is suppressed. "Are rules and laws exclusively meant for ordinary citizens?" he asked.
The party also acknowledged public support from Aaditya Thackeray, while firmly clarifying that the movement transcends conventional party politics. CJP urged participants to shun party flags and banners, marching instead as conscious citizens draped in the national tricolor and Gandhi-themed attire.
Weaving in support for distressed MPSC aspirants and demanding systemic accountability, the CJP has signaled that this battle for electoral integrity is set to storm the gates of New Delhi.
