MPSC Aspirants get police clearance for 'Student Satyagraha'; Rohit Pawar warns govt

Pune, Sep 27 (UNI) In a major breakthrough for the state's competitive exam aspirants, the Pune Police have formally granted permission for the high-stakes 'Student Satyagraha' scheduled for October 2 (Gandhi Jayanti).
Originally slated for an earlier date, the protest was deferred following high-level discussions with Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar due to security constraints surrounding the conclusion of Ganeshotsav.
The peaceful agitation will now take place near the S M Joshi Bridge, adjacent to the Patrakar Bhavan in Pune.
The Core Demands: Aspirants are demanding immediate systemic transparency, action on evaluation discrepancies, and the removal of the MPSC chairman over allegations of corruption and paper leaks.
In ultimatum to the Government, Nationalist Congress Party (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar, who has been actively backing the movement, announced the official clearance. He warned that if the state fails to address and fulfill the students' demands before October 2, the Satyagraha will proceed unconditionally. "If the government remains stubborn and tries to divide students, this protest will happen come what may," Pawar asserted.
Addressing widespread fears among candidates about punitive action for speaking out, Pawar offered major relief. With police authorization now secured, students and coaching networks can freely voice their concerns on social media, Telegram, and classrooms without fear of harassment or legal repercussions.
Expanding the scope of the agitation, leaders have made a passionate call urging not just students, but parents to join the fight on the streets, emphasizing that the battle is crucial to securing a clean, transparent administrative future for the coming generations.
