BJP accuses Rahul and Sonia of directing Kharge's remarks against PM Modi

Mumbai, Oct 26 (UNI) Maharashtra BJP chief spokesperson Navnath Ban on Monday alleged that Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge's remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi reflected Rahul Gandhi's and Sonia Gandhi's thinking
At a press conference here, Ban accused the Congress of repeatedly using objectionable language against PM Modi and his family, and said such remarks would not affect the PM or interrupt the country's development.
Ban alleged that the Congress had a history of making personal attacks against Modi, citing earlier controversial remarks about the PM and his mother. Frustrated by repeated electoral setbacks, the Congress was resorting to personal attacks in the hope of regaining power, he added.
He also alleged that a Congress worker was assaulted by party members during an incident on Sunday, after being mistaken for a BJP worker. Ban said the venue was less than half full and claimed that the low attendance may have contributed to Kharge's frustration.
Referring to actor Naseeruddin Shah, Ban made a controversial remark while criticising what he described as "attempts to create social discord through the Congress". He said the people would respond to such conduct at the appropriate time.
