Maha: CBI appoints DSP Puran Kumar as IO in Disha Salian death case

Mumbai, Sep 10 (UNI) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has appointed Deputy Superintendent of Police Puran Kumar as the Investigating Officer in the death case of celebrity manager Disha Salian, pursuant to the directions of the Bombay High Court.
The development comes days after the High Court, on September 2, directed the CBI to register an FIR (first information report) and conduct a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the 28-year-old's death.
A division bench, comprising Justices Sarang Kotwal and Ranjitsinha Raja Bhonsle, had directed that the probe be entrusted to a senior and experienced officer. The court further ordered the agency to record the statement of Satish Salian, father of the deceased, and register an FIR on the basis of the information furnished by him.

Maha: Mumbai fuel dealers warn of shut down against UPI MDR from Oct 15

Mumbai, Sep 19 (UNI) The Petrol Dealers’ Association, Mumbai, has written a letter to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) requesting a complete exemption for fuel retailers from the proposed UPI MDR charges, even as it also warned of not accepting UPI payments at fuel stations across the city from October 15, if MDR (Merchant Discount Rate) charges are imposed on UPI transactions above Rs 2,000.
