Man killed over family dispute in Maharashtra, two arrested

Ahilaynagar, June 28 (UNI) A man was killed today in a fight with two nephews who attacked him with sickles and large stones in Bhutavda village in Jamkhed taluka in Ahilyanagar district.

According to police, the deceased was identified as Baliram Ralebhat.
Baliram's wife registered a police complaint against two brothers. Police said there is an ongoing dispute over agriculture between the husband and brother-in-law of the complainant. A claim has been filed in the court in this matter for the past one year.
On Friday, (yesterday) the accused Hanumant Sakharam Ralebhat and Yogesh Sakharam Ralebhat came to the field and started running the water motor they shared. At this time, their cousin Baliram Ralebhat (who was killed) told them that they should first repair the pipeline that had burst in their field and only then start the water motor.
Angry at him for saying this, the accused nephew Hanumant Sakharam Ralebhat took a sickle from the field and said to his cousin that I will go to jail but I will not leave you and hit him on the arm, stomach and back with the sickle, causing serious injuries.
Both the accused hit the complainant's husband with the sickle and injured him. The accused did not stop there, and picked up a stone lying there and hit him on the face, injuring him.
In this incident, both the cousins were injured too and were admitted to a private hospital in Jamkhed.
However, since the condition of cousin Baliram Ralebhat was critical, he was immediately admitted to the hospital in Ahilyanagar.

A case of attempted murder was registered at Jamkhed Police Station in this case.
However, this morning, cousin Baliram Ralebhat, who was seriously injured, died during treatment at a private hospital in Ahilyanagar today.
The police arrested both the accused in this case and they were produced in court this morning on the charge of murder. The court remanded both the accused in police custody for three days.
Further investigation is being conducted by Assistant Police Inspector Varsha Jadhav under the guidance of Police Inspector Dashrath Chaudhary.
