Saint of Warkari Sect Narayan Maharaj Tarale passes away

Akola, June 28 (UNI) The elder saint of the Warkari sect of Akola district (devotee of Pandharpur) Narayan Maharaj Tarale passed away today due to old age. He was 98.
Tarale breathed his last in Vyala village of Balapur taluka. He took on the helm of the Warkari sect on his shoulders from the age of nine.
He had been continuously performing Pandharpur wari for 60 years. He had been serving by promoting and spreading the Warkari sect through kirtan in Maharashtra and outside Maharashtra.
His 'Viraha Abhang' of the Warkari sect is very famous.
The last rites will be performed at his native village of Vyala tomorrow. The Warkari congregation from all over Maharashtra will be present for his last rites, family sources said.
