Nashik Crime Branch arrests two Bangladeshi nationals over alleged illegal stay; Fake Aadhaar, PAN cards seized

Nashik, Oct 2 (UNI) The Nashik City Crime Branch has arrested two Bangladeshi nationals allegedly living illegally in the city and seized Aadhaar and PAN cards suspected to be fake from their possession.
The action was carried out by Unit 9 of the Crime Branch following directions from Police Commissioner Sandeep Karnik, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Kirankumar Chavan and Assistant Commissioner of Police Sandeep Mitke to identify and take action against Bangladeshi nationals allegedly residing illegally in Nashik.
Acting on a tip-off received by police constables Pravin Waghmare and Vishal Deore, on October 2, a team led by Senior Police Inspector Dr Anchal Mudgal laid a trap in the Navnath Nagar area of Peth Road, Panchavati, and detained the two men.
According to police, the accused have been identified as Roni Abdul Sheikh, 32, currently residing at Shinde Chawl, Navnath Nagar, Panchavati, and Ashiq Ali Akbar Ansari, 24, residing at Plot No. 80, Navnath Nagar, Panchavati.
Police said both men originally hail from Mejibadi, Khejutal, Muradpur, in Noakhali district of Bangladesh.
During questioning, they allegedly disclosed their original identities as Mohammad Musharraf Husein Mujiburrahman Khokan and Mohammad Sajjat Husein Ashiq, respectively.
During their search, police recovered Aadhaar and PAN cards.
Investigation allegedly found the documents to be forged.
The two men also reportedly did not possess valid travel documents.
Police said the accused admitted to entering India through an illegal route without written permission from the competent civil authorities at the India-Bangladesh border.
Following the disclosure, they were taken into custody and a case was registered at the Panchavati Police Station on a complaint filed on behalf of the government by police constable Mukhtar Sheikh.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of Police Commissioner Sandeep Karnik, DCP Kirankumar Chavan, ACP Sandeep Mitke and Senior Police Inspector Dr Anchal Mudgal, with several officers and personnel from Crime Branch Unit 9 participating in the operation.

According to police, the alleged prime accused, identified as Iqbal Akbarali Shaikh alias Gautam Sunil Dutta (35), facilitated the entry of persons from Bangladesh into India and allegedly arranged identity documents, railway travel, accommodation and employment for them.
