Man killed over suspicion of scrap theft in Hingoli; three held

Hingoli, Sep 15 (UNI) A 34-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death by three persons who suspected him of stealing scrap and cash in Maharashtra's Hingoli district, police said on Tuesday.
Sheikh Shabbir Sheikh Rafiq of Azam Colony, was found dead on the Hingoli-Garmal Road on the town's outskirts on Monday morning.
Police said the accused allegedly attacked Shabbir after suspecting him of involvement in the theft of cash and scrap material from a scrap business owned by Saurabh Patre.
According to the complaint, Shabbir was brutally assaulted, resulting in his death.
Acting on the complaint, Hingoli Rural Police registered a murder case against Saurabh Patre, Nitin Kole and Shivdas Ghode in the early hours of September 15.
A probe was immediately launched, following which all three accused were taken into custody.
Police Inspector Vishnukant Gutte of Hingoli Rural Police Station confirmed the arrests.
Further investigation is underway.
