Major political developments expected in Maha within three months, says Shinde Sena Minister Sanjay Shirsat

Mumbai, Oct 30 (UNI) Maharashtra Social Justice Minister and Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Shirsat has triggered fresh political speculation by predicting major political developments in the state over the next three to four months, while openly suggesting that discussions are underway for Eknath Shinde to become the Chief Minister again.
Speaking to the media, Shirsat said there was no dispute or internal friction between the Shiv Sena and the BJP.
However, taking a strong exception to remarks made by BJP leader Navnath Ban, he said political leaders should maintain certain limits while criticising others.
Otherwise, the Shiv Sena could also question whether such remarks had the approval of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, he added.
“There will be major political developments in Maharashtra in the next three months. Considerable discussions are underway about Eknath Shinde becoming the Chief Minister. Eknath Shinde is a common man,” Shirsat said, fuelling speculation about a possible change in the state's political leadership.
He also asserted that the coming year would belong to the Shiv Sena.
Shirsat's remarks come amid renewed political discussions following a closed-door meeting between Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, along with Maharashtra Navnirman Sena president Raj Thackeray.
The meeting has triggered speculation about possible changes in the state's political equations.
Dismissing suggestions that the meeting could lead to the emergence of a new political alignment, Shirsat said it was normal for political leaders to meet each other and that such interactions should not be interpreted as indications of a change in political equations.
However, he said it would be important to ascertain whether BJP leader Ashish Shelar had held any discussions with Raj Thackeray.
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena MLA Santosh Bangar also expressed support for Shinde returning to the Chief Minister's post.
He said it was the wish of every Shiv Sainik to see Eknath Shinde become the Chief Minister of Maharashtra again.
Bangar further said that if he was entrusted with ministerial responsibility, he would work towards expanding the Shiv Sena's organisational presence across the Marathwada region and adjoining areas.
The statements by Shirsat and Bangar have added a fresh dimension to speculation over leadership within the ruling Mahayuti alliance, particularly at a time when political interactions among leaders across party lines are drawing considerable attention.
