Shiv Sena minister Shirsat hints at major changes in Maharashtra politics by 2027

Mumbai, Oct 30 (UNI) Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena’s Social Justice Minister Sanjay Shirsat today predicted that major changes will be witnessed in Maharashtra politics by 2027.
Speaking to media persons here, he said, “Major changes will take place in Maharashtra in the next four months. There are discussions that Eknath Shinde will become Maharashtra Chief Minister. The next year (2027) will belong to the (Eknath Shinde-led) Shiv Sena.”
In a related development, Shinde-led Shiv Sena MLA Santosh Bangar stated that every Shiv Sainik wishes to see Eknath Shinde become the Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
Reacting to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray sharing the podium at a book release event on Thursday, Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena’s Minister Sanjay Shirsat said, “It is wrong to say that the Thackeray brothers and Fadnavis sharing the platform at an event is an indication that new political equations will emerge in Maharashtra.”

However, it is being speculated in political circles that there could be more to the recent bonhomie seen between the Thackeray cousins and Fadnavis, than meets the eye.
Political observers pointed to statements made at a book release event on Thursday, where the Thackeray brothers and Fadnavis spoke from the same podium, after a brief private discussion among themselves.
Former Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena MLA Ravindra Dhangekar stated at the book release event that Uddhav Thackeray is the heir of the late Balasaheb Thackeray while Eknath Shinde is the heir of the thoughts of Balasaheb.
“Anything can happen in politics. This is no secret. Therefore, leaving aside the political aspect, everyone should come together while preserving the tradition and heritage of Maharashtra,” Dhangekar said.
When asked about the presence of the Thackeray cousins and Devendra Fadnavis on the same stage and their politics, Dhangekar said, “Whether there is politics in their discussions or not, their political stance is clear. It is a tradition of Maharashtra to come together and appreciate the work of a person who has invited them.”
Former Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena MLA Dhangekar also stated that Eknath Shinde has managed to get more than 200 MLAs elected under his leadership and hence Shinde must lead the state.
Political observers also referred to recent statements by Republican Party of India (Athawale) leader and union minister Ramdas Athawale.
He claimed here today that he could bring Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray together permanently.
“I believe I can bring Devendra Fadnavis and Uddhav Thackeray together permanently. Raj Thackeray brought them together for a day, but I can certainly make an effort to bring the two together in the future as well,” Athawale added.
Political observers pointed out that taken together, all these statements are unlikely to be a mere coincidence, but an indication of how political equations are likely to change in Maharashtra.
