UBT chief slams Maha govt over severe drought crisis, dismisses leader tours as 'Camera-Driven Stunts'

Mumbai, Sep 24 (UNI) Launching a scathing attack on the ruling dispensation, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray accused the state government of total apathy toward Maharashtra's deepening agrarian crisis, dismissing the chief minister’s and deputy chief ministers' farm visits as mere photo-ops.
Thackeray asserted that ground-level visits by top leaders and promises of immediate aid are restricted strictly to camera lenses, failing to address the acute reality of parched lands and starving livestock.
Demanding complete transparency, the former chief minister questioned the disbursement status of the previously announced Rs 31,000-crore flood relief package, asking how much financial assistance actually reached farmers' hands.
Highlighting advanced warnings by meteorological departments regarding drought, Thackeray noted that the kharif season is entirely lost, leaving farmers buried under mounting debt while desperate for drinking water and fodder.
Highlighting the opposition's stance, Thackeray maintained that the party's ongoing agitation aims to offer constructive measures for relief rather than empty rhetoric. UNI NEP ATP SAS
