The process of reorganization of polling booths in the state began on October 16, 2026. Proposals received from all districts were sent for approval to the Election Commission of India as per the prescribed procedure.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Navdeep Rinwa, informed that before the reorganization, the total number of polling booths in the state was 177,516, which has now been reduced to 173,730. After the publication of the draft voter list, if a voter's name is found registered at a different polling booth than that of other family members, the necessary correction should be made through Form 8 as per the prescribed procedure.
