Over 1,200 young artists participate in Pune Festival’s ‘Ugavte Taare’ and ‘Indradhanush’

Pune, Sep 19 (UNI) More than 1,200 child and young artists from around 60 schools in Pune and adjoining areas participated in the ‘Ugavte Taare’ and ‘Indradhanush’ programmes organised as part of the 38th Pune Festival at Balgandharva Rangmandir here.
The ‘Ugavte Taare’ programme was organised for children aged between seven and 14 years, while ‘Indradhanush’ was aimed at young artists in the 15-25 age group.
The programmes were held with parents, teachers and audiences attending in large numbers.
The participants presented a variety of cultural performances, including Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Mohiniyattam, Lavani-fusion, Sambal, Gujarati and Rajasthani dances, Assamese dance, folk dance, Ghoomar, Gondhal, patriotic songs, Powada, Jogwa, cine dance, tribal dance, Ganesh Vandana, Mahishasura Mardini Stotra and traditional Mangala Gaur games.
Several group dance performances drew appreciation from the audience, with the artists receiving applause throughout the programmes.
The participants performed in traditional and colourful costumes.
Pune Festival president Krishnakumar Goel, chief coordinator Adv. Abhay Chhajed, cultural programmes chief coordinator Dr Satish Desai, former Minister of State for Home Ramesh Bagwe and trustee Mohan Tillu were among those who attended the programmes and interacted with the participants.
