Over 18 cops on way to PM event injured in bus-truck collision in Bihar's Saran

Chhapra, June 11 (UNI) More than 18 policemen who were on way to Siwan for an event featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi sustained injuries in a collision between a bus and a truck in the Doriganj police station area of Saran district in Bihar.

Police sources said on Wednesday that a bus carrying 45 policemen was on its way to Siwan via the Chhapra-Ara Bir Kunwar Singh Bridge to make security arrangements for an event of the Prime Minister.

The bus broke down on a bridge near Doriganj police station, with the driver inspecting it when an uncontrolled truck hit it violently.

Sources said that more than 18 policemen and bus drivers were injured in this incident.

On receiving information about the incident, the police reached the spot and took all the injured to Sadar Hospital for treatment.

Sources said more than 18 police personnel sustained injuries.

The driver of the truck escaped from the spot leaving his vehicle. The truck has been seized. An FIR was registered at the police station.
