Panipat Police Rule Out ₹8 Lakh Robbery Claim in Sector 11-12, Say Dispute Stemmed from Old Enmity

Panipat, Oct 27 (UNI) A reported ₹8 lakh robbery in Panipat’s Sector 11-12 has turned out to be a fabricated account of a dispute linked to old enmity, DSP Pradeep Yadav said, adding that the ₹3 lakh the man was carrying was recovered at the spot.
According to the DSP, police received information about the alleged robbery on Monday and teams from the CIA and the local police station reached the spot. CCTV footage was examined during the investigation but did not support the claim.
Yadav said the man had allegedly claimed that ₹8 lakh had been looted, although ₹3 lakh was found with him. The dispute reportedly arose from an altercation with another person, which the man allegedly portrayed as a robbery.
The DSP said the man was yet to meet police in person and had reportedly travelled to Delhi. Police had spoken to him over the phone, and he had acknowledged that there had been a fight rather than a robbery, Yadav said.
The CCTV footage reportedly showed the man leaving with one bag, contrary to his claim that he had two bags. The DSP said no formal complaint had been received so far, and further action would be taken if one were submitted.
The man is reportedly undergoing treatment following the altercation. UNI KK CDS
