Parallel taxi track to boost operational efficiency at Lucknow Airport

Lucknow, Oct 28 (UNI) Choudhary Charan Singh Lucknow International Airport is enhancing its aviation infrastructure through the phased development of a parallel taxi track to improve airline on-time performance and strengthen ground traffic management in coordination with the Airports Authority of India.
Airport officials here said that the project spans a total length of 2,864 metres.
The airport inaugurated an 804-metre priority section on Wednesday, which will become operational from midnight on Thursday (12 AM onwards). The remaining section is scheduled for inauguration by the end of March 2027.
Lucknow Airport handles diverse aviation operations, including scheduled commercial flights, general aviation and non-scheduled flights. It also serves as an important diversion airport for flights bound for Delhi, Varanasi and other cities, particularly during weather-related disruptions.
The parallel taxi track is expected to reduce Runway Occupancy Time, facilitate smoother aircraft movement and enhance overall operational efficiency. This infrastructure upgrade reflects Lucknow Airport's commitment to maintaining high safety standards, improving operational performance and preparing for future growth in air traffic, officials said.
