Pink Power Run 3.0 held in Hyderabad to raise breast cancer awareness

Hyderabad, Sep 27 (UNI) The third edition of the Pink Power Run 3.0, jointly organised by the Sudha Reddy Foundation and the MEIL Foundation (Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Ltd), drew enthusiastic public participation on Necklace Road on Sunday to raise breast cancer awareness and promote women’s health.
More than 35,000 people registered for the event, with a large number of Hyderabad residents participating in the 3km, 5km, 10km and 21km runs. The runs began at the HMDA Grounds and proceeded along Necklace Road, carrying messages of breast cancer awareness, preventive healthcare, fitness and women’s empowerment.
Telangana Panchayat Raj, Women and Child Welfare Minister Danasari Anasuya Seethakka, Telangana DGP C V Anand, US Consul General Laura Williams, boxer Vijender Singh, music director S. Thaman and actor Sidhu Jonnalagadda, among others, attended the event. A live musical performance by S. Thaman added to the festive atmosphere.
As part of the programme, Minister Seethakka also flagged off a breast cancer awareness rally at People’s Plaza. The rally focused on the importance of early detection, regular health check-ups and timely medical consultation.
Addressing women’s health concerns, the organisers urged women not to ignore suspicious symptoms and to consult doctors promptly. The campaign also highlighted the importance of healthy lifestyles and regular screening, while seeking to dispel myths and misconceptions surrounding breast cancer.
A large number of women, medical professionals and representatives of voluntary organisations participated in the awareness rally.
The first edition of the Pink Power Run was held at the Gachibowli GMC Balayogi Stadium in 2024, followed by the second edition at Necklace Road in 2025. The growing participation in the third edition reflected the increasing public response to the initiative aimed at promoting breast cancer awareness and healthier lifestyles.
