Preparations for Nilambur bypoll begins

Mallapuram, May 25 (UNI) The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Kerala convened a high-level meeting to review the preparedness for the upcoming Nilambur bye-elections in Mallapuram district through video conference on Sunday.
The meeting was held with key district officials including the District Collector, District Police Chief, Sub-Collector, and other senior election officials.
During the meeting, the CEO assessed the status of various administrative and security arrangements being undertaken to ensure that the elections are conducted as per strict adherence of the electoral laws and instructions of the Election Commission of India from time to time.
Detailed discussions were held on critical aspects such as electoral roll updates, polling station readiness, deployment of election personnel, security arrangements, and voter awareness initiatives.
Special focus was laid on measures to ensure the peaceful conduct of polling, adequate security deployment, and effective coordination between civil and police administration.
The District Collector briefed the CEO on the comprehensive action plan being implemented in coordination with all departments concerned.
The District Police Chief assured that sufficient security measures are being taken, including deployment of police personnel at sensitive locations and monitoring through surveillance systems.
