President Murmu to attend Haryana’s diamond jubilee celebrations in Kurukshetra on Nov 1

Kurukshetra, Oct 31 (UNI) President Droupadi Murmu will attend Haryana’s state-level diamond jubilee celebrations in Kurukshetra on November 1, marking 60 years since the state’s formation.
The district administration has imposed a two-day ban on drone operations and implemented extensive security measures for her visit.
The President will be the chief guest at the celebrations at Kurukshetra University, where an exhibition highlighting Haryana’s six decades of development, achievements and its vision for a developed state by 2047 will be organised.
Deputy Commissioner Vishram Kumar Meena stated that the district administration has completed preparations for the President’s visit, which will include engagements at Shri Devikoop Bhadrakali Temple, Kurukshetra University, and Gurukul Kurukshetra.
According to the official itinerary, the President will begin her engagements in Kurukshetra by offering prayers at Bhadrakali Temple. She will then visit Kurukshetra University to view an exhibition highlighting Haryana’s progress since its formation on November 1, 1966, including major developments and achievements over the past 60 years.
Murmu will then attend the state-level diamond jubilee ceremony at the university auditorium as chief guest and release the poster for the Ratnawali Festival, a cultural event associated with the university.
The President is also scheduled to visit Gurukul Kurukshetra to attend a programme commemorating the centenary of the martyrdom of Swami Shraddhanand, a freedom fighter and social reformer.
Rashtrapati Bhavan has separately confirmed the President’s participation in the Haryana diamond jubilee celebrations and the centenary commemoration at Gurukul Kurukshetra.
Meena said security arrangements have been strengthened across the district, and officials have been directed to ensure strict compliance with established protocols during the presidential visit.
As part of the security measures, the district magistrate has declared the entire Kurukshetra district a drone no-fly zone on October 31 and November 1. The restrictions have been imposed under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, and Rule 24 of the Drone Rules, 2021, with the district also designated a red zone for drone operations during the two-day period.
The order provides exemptions for authorised unmanned aircraft operations by the Haryana Police, the Indian Army, and the Indian Air Force, as well as for specified police and government personnel performing official duties.
The administration has warned that violations of the restrictions could invite action under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and other applicable legal provisions.
The President’s visit comes as Haryana completes six decades since its separation from the erstwhile Punjab state on November 1, 1966.
The diamond jubilee celebrations will highlight the state’s history, development, and future priorities, with Kurukshetra hosting the main state-level event.
The district administration stated that all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure the smooth conduct of the President’s scheduled programmes and maintain security throughout her visit.
