Punef fest 'Dirt Track' competition gets a rousing response

Pune, Sep 20 (UNI) The dirt track competition organised as part of the 38th Pune Festival concluded with enthusiastic participation at the Golibar Maidan in Pune, with more than 225 motorists taking part across various categories on Sunday.
Competitors from Pune as well as Kolhapur, Nashik, Satara, Ahilyanagar and Gadhinglaj participated. The competition featured categories including Novice Class, Modified Bikes in 125cc, 250cc and 350cc classes, besides women’s and scooter categories.
Pune Festival President Krishnakumar Goel and Chief Coordinator Adv. Abhay Chhajed flagged off the various categories to mark the commencement of the competition.
Dr. Satish Desai, Chief Coordinator of Cultural Programmes at the Pune Festival, and Manoj Bhore, Vice-President of the Maharashtra Olympic Association, were present.
The competition was conducted with the approval of the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI).
Sheetal Rathod, founder of Extreme Racing and Motor Sports, coordinated the event, while Prasanna Gokhale is the Pune Festival’s sports coordinator.
The audience was also treated to a two-wheeler stunt demo by 10-year-old Pune riders Rida Sayyad, Zayden Chindhy and Evan Chindhy, who drew attention with their riding skills.
