Punjab to hold parent-teacher meetings in 19,200 government schools on October 9

Chandigarh, Oct 8 (UNI) Punjab will organise a statewide parent-teacher meeting across nearly 19,200 government schools on Friday, with around 25 lakh parents expected to participate in an exercise aimed at improving students' academic performance and identifying individual learning needs.
The programme, titled "Har Din, Ik Kadam Agge", will cover government primary, middle, high and senior secondary schools across all 23 districts.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said the initiative would strengthen cooperation between parents and teachers.
"Every parent wants to see their child move forward. This Mega PTM is an opportunity to build the future of every single child and make Punjab's schools number one in the world," Mann said.
Teachers will discuss students' report cards, attendance, classroom performance and areas requiring improvement with parents.
Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains said schools would prepare individual learning plans based on each child's needs.
"Our focus is on ensuring dedicated, individual attention for every child and crafting customised learning roadmaps to help them advance," Bains said.
School Management Committee members will also be recognised for their contribution to improving school education.
