Ranchi T20: Rain, thunderstorms may disrupt India-WI match

Ranchi, Oct 6 (UNI) Rain and thunderstorms may disrupt the India-West Indies T20I at JSCA Stadium here on Oct 9, with the weather office forecasting cloudy conditions and showers in parts of Jharkhand.
The Meteorological Centre, Ranchi, has forecast partly cloudy skies and the possibility of thunderstorms in Ranchi on Friday, along with light to moderate rain at some places in the state.
The forecast comes as weather conditions are expected to remain unsettled across Jharkhand from Oct 6 to 9, with thunderstorms and gusty winds likely at some places.
On Tuesday, the weather office issued an Orange alert for Ranchi, Hazaribagh, Koderma, Palamu, Chatra and Latehar districts, forecasting light to moderate rain or thundershowers at some places.
Rain is also likely in parts of Jharkhand on Oct 7 and 8. The weather office said the conditions are associated with active weather systems, including troughs extending from south-east Uttar Pradesh towards the Bay of Bengal and the southwest monsoon withdrawal line passing through Ranchi.
The maximum temperature may fall by two to three degrees Celsius over the next two to three days, the forecast said.
The India-West Indies second T20I is scheduled to be played at JSCA Stadium on Oct 9.
