Rapido launches Ownly food delivery app in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Sept 25(UNI) Mobility platform Rapido on Friday announced the launch of its standalone food delivery app, Ownly, in Hyderabad, making it the second city after Bengaluru where the platform is operational.
Ownly is being launched in Hyderabad with a zero-commission model under which partner restaurants pay no commission, while customers are charged a delivery fee based on the cost of delivering their orders, the company said in a release.
As part of the launch, Ownly hosted a biryani event for Rapido Captains in Hyderabad. Telugu actor Nani also participated in the event and interacted with Captains from across the city.
The company said Rapido Captains would play a key role in Ownly's food delivery operations, creating additional earning opportunities by allowing them to take up food delivery orders alongside mobility services.
Aravind Sanka, Co-founder of Rapido and Ownly, said Hyderabad was a natural next market for the platform given the city's food culture, particularly its association with biryani.
Ownly said its restaurant-first model allows partner restaurants to retain the full value of every order, while consumers can discover, order and receive food through the platform without inflated menu prices or hidden costs.
The platform is available as a standalone app on iOS and Android and through the Rapido app, the company added.
