Sanawar Lawrence School tops state ranks nationwide in EWISR

Solan, Oct 22 (UNI) In a significant endorsement of its evolving pedagogical excellence, The Lawrence School, Sanawar, was adjudged the No. 2 Vintage Legacy Co-educational Boarding School in the country and No. 1 across Himachal Pradesh in the EducationWorld India School Rankings (EWISR) 2026–27, announced at a national conclave in the capital on Thursday.
The landmark ranking reaffirms the 179-year-old institution's position at the forefront of residential schooling in India, assessed across critical parameters including academic reputation, co-curricular education, faculty competence, pastoral care, and infrastructure.
Representing the institution at the felicitation ceremony, Headmaster Ruchi Pradhan Datta took centre stage in a high-powered panel discussion titled "Beyond 8 to 3: Can Boarding and Day-cum-Boarding Schools Unlock the Next Phase of School Growth?" The discourse brought together leading educationists, policy thinkers, and institutional heads to deliberate on the evolving charter of Indian schooling amid shifting demographic and holistic learning demands.
Addressing the forum, Datta highlighted the transformative value of full-time residential education, observing that modern boarding environments extend well beyond traditional classroom hours to cultivate character, emotional resilience, collaborative leadership, and independent thinking.
She underscored that residential campuses naturally align with progressive educational mandates that seek to integrate life skills, physical wellness, and experiential inquiry into daily student life. The recognition sparked widespread pride across the hilltop campus and among its vast global alumni network, marking another milestone in the school's enduring pursuit of comprehensive, values-driven education.UNI AK CDS
