Sanskrit scientific language: Rajnath Singh

Ayodhya, Oct 5 (UNI) Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, claiming that Sanskrit is a scientific language, today said that while it would take considerable time to delve into its details, it contains a rich tradition of knowledge and science.

"The government has placed special emphasis on linking the study of Sanskrit with modern education. The integration of Sanskrit and modern education will connect the new generation to tradition and prepare them for future needs. The best way to preserve a tradition is not simply to memorize it, but to pass on its knowledge and values to future generations," he said.
Singh , who reached in Ayodhya in the morning, first paid obeisance at the shrine of Lord Ram and then proceeded to the Udasin Rishi Sangat Ashram in Ranopali, where he participated in the closing ceremony of the Guru Parv Festival.
Defence minister inaugurated the newly constructed Shrinarayan Ram Sanskrit Vidyalaya building.
On this occasion, Singh said that the tradition of Sanskrit education must be carried forward with the goal of expanding and broadening the Sri Narayan Sanskrit College. The newly constructed building will not only provide accommodation for students but can also develop into a major centre of Sanskrit education in the future, he noted.
Addressing Sanskrit students, he said they were performing the noblest work of their lives. It was a privilege to take the pledge to study Sanskrit. Sanskrit, the divine language, holds a vast tradition of knowledge, science and spirituality. He urged the students to maintain their dedication to Sanskrit and to continue studying India's religion, literature, and knowledge traditions.
Singh further said that the students studying in college are the future of the country. These students will carry forward the glory of the divine language of Sanskrit and serve Sanskrit and Indian culture in the future.
He said that today will be etched in golden letters in the history of the ashram. He was delighted to see the newly constructed building. This building is not an ordinary construction, but a symbol of the commitment to pass on Indian traditions and knowledge to future generations. UNI MBD SS
