SCR bags six awards at CII National Excellence in Energy Management

Hyderabad, Sept 19 (UNI) South Central Railway (SCR) has bagged six awards at the 27th CII National Excellence in Energy Management 2026 for its efforts towards energy efficiency, energy conservation and adoption of sustainable practices across its establishments.
Kacheguda Railway Station was conferred the 'Excellent Energy Efficient Unit' award, while five other SCR establishments were recognised as 'Energy Efficient Units'.
The five units are Lekha Bhavan, Central Hospital/Lallaguda, Zonal Railway Training Institute (ZRTI)/Moula Ali, Rail Bogie Karkhana/Yadgir and Signal & Telecom Workshop/Mettuguda.
The awards were presented at the CII Energy Efficiency Summit held at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) on September 18.
The Awards were received by Rama Rao, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Hyderabad Division, and other senior railway officials.
The recognition followed efforts by SCR's divisions, workshops and field units across departments towards improving energy efficiency, conserving energy and adopting green initiatives.
According to SCR, the initiatives are aimed at reducing energy consumption and promoting environmentally responsible railway operations.
SCR General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava congratulated the SCR team for the national recognition and complimented the Principal Chief Electrical Engineer, divisional railway managers and other officials involved in the initiatives.
He said the zone remained committed to energy conservation and efficient energy management.
